 Requirements for Admission:

1.  First Time Freshman

• Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
• Submit a copy of your ACT or SAT score. Minimum ACT score of 18 or SAT of 870 to be admitted unconditionally.
• Submit a copy of your high school transcripts
• Admissions Index of 450 to be admitted unconditionally (Does not apply for Transfer Students). To calculate your Admissions Index, multiply your GPA by 100 and ACT score by 10 and add the two scores together. Example, using GPA of 3.2 and ACT score of 21: 
                               3.2(GPA) x 100 = 320
                               21(ACT)  x 10   = 210
                               Admission Index = 530 
• If your Academic Index falls between 400 and 449, you may be admitted provisionally to MSU 
  

2. Transfer Students

• If you have 24 or more credit hours transferring in, we need:
  • Online Admission & Scholarship Application
  • College Transcript(s)
• If you are transferring less than 24 credit hours in, we need:
  • Online Admission & Scholarship Application
  • High school transcripts
  • ACT scores or SAT scores
  • College transcript(s)

• If you are returning student at MSU (have previously attended MSU and have not attended any other school) all you need to do to be re-admitted is complete a new Online Admission & Scholarship Application, and select returning student as enrollment type.
  

4. Returning Transfer Student

• If you are a returning transfer student at MSU (have previously attended MSU and attended other school(s) all you need to do to be re-admitted is complete a new Online Admission & Scholarship Application, submit transcripts from the colleges or universities attended, and select returning transfer student as the enrollment type.

5. Visiting Student

• If you are a visiting student at MSU (attending another university or college and need to take a few additional classes) all you need to do is complete a new Online Admission & Scholarship Application, submit a Visiting Student Statement, and select visiting student as enrollment type.

6. Special Student

• If you are a special student at MSU (not interested in working toward a degree) all you need to do is complete a new Online Admission & Scholarship Application, and select special student as the enrollment type.
  

7. High School Student

• Complete a Registration Application for Classes for High School Students and have it signed by your guidance counselor. Students who have not taken the ACT exam must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.
  Note: If you are interested in attending MSU this fall as a freshman, you will need to complete a separate Undergraduate and Scholarship Application.
